We have spent the past week and a bit away from home… visiting family and friends, a little bit of work {all thrown in the mix, plenty of shopping, eating {and drinking?!} and general lazing about.
We began the trip heading to friends in Central West NSW where we then spent a week trekking back and forwards from their place and my parents. I miss my family {and our friends} so much now that we are in sunny QLD {probably even more so since becoming a mummy myself!} – its amazing how much you take them for granted when they are just down the road. Mum and I had some lovely days walking, and shopping {fabric shopping nonetheless!} chatting, and cooking and just being together. There was plenty of time spent chasing this one around {she is well and truly on the move now – so close to walking its scaring me!} as well as checking out our calving cows, cups of tea with Pa and lots of laughs with J&K and their kids.
This was a gift from MaMa and Pa {and its been a constant hit ever since – almost like a new toy everytime she sees it!}.
We actually didn’t have a plan at all for the second week, apart from wanting to be on the coast and at a beach we didn’t care where that was. So against what I usually stand for {I’m a planned out list-type person who plans to make plans!?} but it has been really lovely just driving, ending up just where we do, and doing whatever takes one of our fancies. We are now headed back up the Coast and will make our way home next weekend. We are based in Coffs Harbour for a couple of days and are in true holiday heaven. Even for FJ {who is constantly on the go} these past couple of days has been so relaxing. Walks along the boardwalk, prawns and fresh seafood, and our first encounter with the beach! {note: I may have gone a bit top-heavy on the photos…just couldn’t not show you all}
Safe to say with all the holiday-ing going on there has been no progress with any of my sewing projects. I did bring some small hand-sewing and Lilla’s second kina cardigan which is almost finished. I decided to knit one up again to wear over her liberty print geranium dress {which isn’t even cut out yet} for her Christening in a couple of weeks. I am also sewing up a Miss Maggie Rabbit {this is the hand-sewing mentioned} with only 5% progress made {I’ve at least cut the pieces out!} which has a matching liberty print peasant dress. These kits are gorgeous – the fabrics and the yarn are highest quality stuff and the pattern so easy to follow. You can still purchase the kits here.
Hope all is well in your worlds – have loved having the extra time in the day to read and comment on other blogs – there are so many new projects I have bookmarked {and pinned} and have plans to add them to my to-do list {just depends where on the list I plan to put them!} 😉
