Since releasing our first Paper Pattern collection I’ve had so many people request Gumdrops on paper – and I completely agree! The design is amazing {if I do say so myself!} and so quick and simple to piece together. This quilt is featuring prominently this week on our stand at the Brisbane Craft & Quilt Fair and the response has been somewhat overwhelming.
The original Gumdrops quilt was made for our Poppy when she was only a few weeks old {she was so little in this post!}. I used a Honey Bun in Sweet fabrics {by Urban Chiks for Moda} and very quickly fell in love with the concept of one made from Jelly Rolls. The twin size was always offered in the Gumdrops pattern, so it was about time we made one!
Note: If you have previously purchased our Gumdrops pattern, and would like an updated version, please contact us and I will get one out to you!
This new version is made up in Fresh Cut by Basic Grey for Moda – which is hands down one of the prettiest fabric collections I have ever used. I just can’t get enough of the colour and those gorgeous florals in this line. I love this quilt, and am so pleased with the result. We have updated the old pattern to fit with our new layout, and given Gumdrops a bit of a makeover ahead of it going to print! I just love that angular edge!
PDF Patterns are available in our store, and I’m offering PRE-ORDERS for Paper patterns. These are expected to be be printed and shipped by October 31st 2015.
I can’t wait to see your Gumdrops quilt – remember to tag me @livelovesew and #gumdropsquilt in your photos and posts on Instagram.
