I have been working on a little project I’d love to share with you all – as I {very slowly} work on patterns to add to my shop, and continue to dream up new ideas I always come across those that I could never ask for anything more than just the joy in knowing people are making gorgeous gifts based on something I have developed.
the Fancy quilt tutorial was a perfect example of this – I had so many super-talented quilters contacting me telling me they loved the pattern, and some even having started their own Fancy quilt with jelly-rolls they had stashed. It gives you the warm-fuzzies every time.
Cross-stitch is one of those crafts I have been doing for years {and years and years!}. My first project was a mini sampler which my mum bought for me at the dollar store. I finished that little sampler and we had it framed – I still have it and look back so fondly on the time {hours} my mum spent teaching me how to cross those little stitches {safe to say that sampler’s not a perfect example of cross stitching excellence!}.
I love quick couple-of-hours {if that!} projects and am so happy to have finished {and trialed} this pattern. a is for alphabet {the floral edition} is a perfect little pattern for your little princess. Using only a couple of floss colours {which can very easily be substituted to match your decor or preferences} and full cross stitch and french knot stitches it is ideal for beginner stitchers.
They are cute mounted in mini-hoops, would be gorgeous framed, and I’m dying to see it stitched up as a full alphabet sampler.

This little one is destined for a gorgeous girl with a super-talented mummy {or mommy!? ;)} – and I do hope she loves it as much as I do. This lady has amazed me right from the moment I discovered her, and her gorgeous sewing {for little miss S} has always been an inspiration for my own crafty ventures.
I am hosting a little giveaway so you can create your own mini alphabet sampler. Included in the giveaway is dublin linen, DMC embroidery floss, mini embroidery-hoop and a printed copy of the a is for alphabet sampler pattern.
To enter simply leave me a comment telling me who you would make your alphabet sampler for. Winner will be drawn {by random.org} on Thursday 5 September 2013 and announced Friday 6th. Good luck!

Super cute! Well I’d have to make one for my eldest girl since she’s about to start nursery and is learning her alphabet!
I would love to make one for my daughter just to have from now on.
I’d probably make it for myself – it would look great in my craft room!
I’m going to make the “S” as it’s my last initial!
I’d make one for my friend who is ill.
I would love to have this A pattern since my youngest daughter’s name starts with “A”.
