This year marks the beginning of a bit of an overhaul in the fabric department – I’m not going to only use the fabric in my collection, nor am I not going to buy any as I mentioned back here, but I am going to take stock of what I have and keep some sort of record. What better way than here right?! The plan is to document what fabric I have {and accumulate}, where it can be purchased from {if still in print} and plans {if any!} for using it. I read so many fabric stash posts on my bloglovin’ feed I thought it time to jump on the bandwagon. Plus, I kinda love taking photos of fabric {almost as much as I love cutting them up and sewing them back together ;)}
This week’s stash report is Vintage Happy by Lori Holt of Bee In My Bonnet for Riley Blake Fabrics. Can I just start by saying that I love Lori and everything she does. Everything. So this fabric collection is really no exception. I bought it after seeing this quilt by Christine. Love, love, love it and had to get some for that special project {that I didn’t yet have in mind!}.
It can be hard to get your hands on this line – I was so lucky and picked up a fat quarter bundle on Etsy a few months ago. You can still purchase this collection here though.
I love that it co-ordinates so beautifully with navy – I’m seriously crushing navy at the moment {navy bedlinen, navy clothes, navy throw cushions, navy mugs etc etc. – you get the picture!} – as I’m trying to break away from using so much white in my quilts {I have children now – children with messy, sticky fingers!}.
I’ve set aside this bundle to make up some six inch sampler blocks in a quilt-along happening over on Instagram {#simplesixinchsampler} hosted by some gorgeous and talented Australian quilters. I’m so far behind it isn’t funny – but I will get to it, and I look forward to sharing those blocks with you!
What have you made with your Vintage Happy prints? Linking up with Molli over here.

Gorgeous fabrics! I was on a fast last year so put Vintage Happy on my birthday list and lo and behold it appeared on the said day in December – so I’ve not done anything with it yet but look at it often! Off to check out the QAL.
Love it! What a great birthday present!
I love vintage happy. I’ve got two of the mini charm packs and a bunch of half yard cuts and fat quarters to use for a granny square quilt. This line makes me so happy when I look at it, it’s bright and cheerful without being too in your face.
I’m with you on using your stash more. I’m also taking more stock of what I have so I can use more form my stash while being honest with myself that I can’t go on a 100% no-buy diet!
I love it too Terri Ann – such a sweet collection together, but each of the prints can be so easily used on their own. I’m so in love with the navy prints!
I always think I will only use my stash fabric, til…
I go to a show or shop and can’t resist!
LeeAnna at not afraid of color
Oh I’m the same LeeAnna – absolutely why I didn’t commit to sewing my stash in 2015! There are too many gorgeous new lines about to be released!
Very pretty. It sounds like a good idea to make a record of what fabric you have already.
