I’ve been working on a new project over the past couple of weeks – something I’m really excited about!!!! {can you tell ?}.
I’ve decided to launch a LIVE.LOVE.SEW Block of the Month {!} – a featured traditional quilt block, tutorial and free pattern download each month. There is no hiding the fact that I love traditional quilts – I love them even more in modern fabrics – so I’m going to share with you 12 of my favourites and some of the fun ways they can be used on their own or in our sampler quilt.
Join me here, on the 22nd day of every month where you will find just what you need to sew along with me. Each block measures 8″ finished, so our completed quilt top {without sashing or borders} will be around a super cute 24″ x 32″. I want you to use these blocks however you wish though – I’ve already cut a full quilt top of the first block {here on the blog tomorrow} that I can’t wait to finish and share with you all. The blocks would also make a cute tablerunner, the pockets for an overnight bag {have you all seen the gorgeous quilted Weekender bags getting around!?} or a mini for your wall!
I’m super thrilled to share some of my favourite blocks with you, and look forward to sewing with you. Remember to tag me in your finished or progress shots – @livelovesew #livelovesewbom {Instagram} or on your favourite social media platform.
See you tomorrow for our first block – now off to decide on fabrics!

I’m in! 🙂
Thank you for this!
Its a pleasure Jerri!
What a pretty block. The fabrics you have used on the outside of your block is one of my absolute favorite fabrics. Maybe you can explain why I have never bought any of it? LOL
I love the idea of all traditional blocks. I think I lean more toward traditional than modern for sure. I will be following along, but am not sure I’ll be sewing right now with my schedule. I just recently ran across your website and started following you. You’ve got some really great tutorials.
Oh mine too Vicki! I do love this line, and can’t wait to finish the whole quilt top. Hope you enjoyed the tutorial!
