I’m thrilled to be able to share a small milestone in my quilting career with you all – I’m a published quilter again!
While away from home, waiting for our Poppy to arrive, I received an email which made my day – Make Modern {a new online quilting magazine} wanted to feature a photo and info on my charmed quilt – made possible through participation in Mel’s charm swap last year. That photo, and that paragraph was published today!
So, if you’re a new reader – firstly, welcome! – secondly, thankyou {!!}. I am Keera, wife and mum, quilter and designer for live.love.sew pattern co. as well as a Moda Bake Shop Chef. I love sharing my designs and am so excited to share with you the Charmed quilt. The response to this pattern has been overwhelming, and provides the ultimate motivation to continue doing what I love. Head over here for more about me, or here for more quilt related blog posts, or the shop for our latest pattern releases. Links to social media platforms can all be found in the sidebar – I’d love to keep in touch with you all!
The Charmed quilt came about when I opened that little stack of Kate Spain goodness, and then laid them all out on my cutting board for an Instagram photo opportunity {!}. I loved that they all worked so well together; the colours so vibrant and the patterns so complimentary. I used a Bella Solids bleached white {which is my go-to solid} to really make those fabrics ‘pop’. Its a simple design, a simple concept, but so very effective.
You can download your free pattern , or follow our tutorial over here.
Its always a thrill to see your work shared and featured on other sites and magazines – the quilting community really is an amazingly supportive and loving one! Grab your subscription and past issues to Make Modern in their online store here.
